The new WorldSBK Champion answers your Twitter questions with hashtag #AskJR65.

Even before carrying out his habitual track walk at Magny-Cours on Thursday, newly-crowned World Superbike Champion Jonathan Rea joined the WorldSBK.com team in the Media Center. Why? To sit down and answer some important questions…

The interrogation in question involved hashtag #AskJR65 on the WorldSBK Twitter feed, with race fans having sent in plenty of questions earlier in the day.

The results? We learned that his first Kawasaki Racing Team victory at Phillip Island was the most memorable moment, that Race 1 at Sepang was his best of the year and that he cannot wait to climb aboard the new ZX-10R for 2016.

But what of a Superbike-Supersport title double, as @neilbrownNB12 enquired? “I’m not fast enough anymore to win SSP and I’m too heavy now hahahaha,” the World Champion typed. “Enjoy my pizza too much now!” Remaining on the subject of food, a certain ‘Big Mac’ was mentioned following a question from @DKeyes732.

When it came to favourite circuits, Rea – who always dresses left to right, we can exclusively reveal – cited Phillip Island and Portimao as favourites, after the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in the UK. Then came the subject of race numbers. Why 65?

“My Dad was always 6 or 5 so I put them together as I didn’t want to start with a single digit when I was slow,” Rea explained to @WePird before answering to @ewinracing about whether he will race in 2016 with the prestigious number 1 plate:

“I think so because it’s the only number you never get to choose and you have to earn the No.1!”

So, is Jonathan Rea tempted to move to MotoGP considering he has now achieved the ultimate feat in World Superbike?
